Kickwheel Pottery Supply, Inc.
|
Kickwheel Pottery Supply, Inc. was established in 1974 by husband and wife, Richard and Christine Winokur. Their
son, Jason came on board in 1992 and his wife, Megan joined them in 2002. George Klein, Megan's father, manufactures
our KPS Glazes and Sam is already starting his play in clay.
Richard and Christine began doing pottery
shows and wholesaling their handmade pottery throughout Georgia as Kickwheel Pottery. It became clear to them that a
good local pottery supply was needed and they began to take small orders for equipment, tools, etc. When the volume became
too much, a small warehouse was rented to accommodate having materials and supplies on-hand. A slight name change to Kickwheel
Pottery Supply and they were in business.
Today KPS Clay Company, LLC, and its subsidieries (Kickwheel Pottery
Supply, Elements Clay Studio & Gallery, and KPS Glazes) are housed in a 40,000 square foot building. Now one of the
premiere clay producers in the country, KPS manufactures over 40 proprietary, specialized clay bodies and as well
as an exclusive line of stoneware, lowfire and raku glazes.
